Specification of Kapur Tohor Calcium Oxide - CaO
Quicklime, also known as calcium oxide (CaO), is the result of burning raw lime (calcium carbonate or CaCO3) at a temperature of approximately 90 degrees Celsius. If it is doused with water, quicklime will produce heat and turn into slaked lime (calcium hydroxide, CaOH).
Calcium oxide (CaO), commonly known as quicklime or lime, is a material widely used for desulfurization. The dry method of desulfurization with dolomite or lime involves a heterogeneous solid-gas phase reaction that occurs at elevated temperatures.
